A Day @ the Falls

We spent all day doing the Niagara Falls, NY state parks. We had a great time playing, having a picinic, checking out the 3 different waterfalls, being sprayed by the mist and meeting LOTS of people. Diamond's Solitare "Little Bear"

This is Waba (the Sire) This is Diamond and her new pup.

Diamond gave birth to a 1 lb. 1 oz. healthy baby boy on March 24, 2010. He is the son of Warba (a Shiloh shepherd owned by breed founder Tina Barber). Warba is known for his impressive size and gentle temperment. This "Little Bear" should turn out to be a "Great Big Bear".

Homecoming 2009

This was the ISSR Shiloh Shepherd 35th Annual Homecoming. It was an exciting time with Seminars, Classes, Temperment Tests and 3 days of Speciality Shows. My four year old daughter Sara took Diamond in the ring for Pee Wee Handling on Saturday. She did so good. She won her first trophy for "Best Pee Wee Handler". My 9 year old daughter took Diamond in the ring on Friday for adult Novice and Saturday for Jr. Handling . Sabrina took 2nd for Jr. Handling and Adult Novice(Plush Female). Saturday Diamond took 3rd place in Adult Novice (Plush female ). On Sunday she took 1st for Adult Novice (Plush female). She also scored a 98% on her Temperment Test. We had a lot of fun! Our Shiloh Family is a great group of people and we are proud to be a part of it. Watch a quick video of Sara & Diamond in the ring. Well I think Diamond had a good Easter. Looks like the Easter Bunny brought her a basket of her own........ full of goodies. Homemade Easter doggie cookies.. an "unstuffed" Dragon & a rubber Bunny.

Bed Buddies

While the cats away the mice will play (or sleep). Yes, my daughter who refuses to be alone anytime, anywhere took it upon herself to get a bed buddy. And of course one of her many stuffed animals just isn't good enough. Now this type of thing is not allowed at our house but.....it was such a cute moment I had to get my camera. This is what happens when I take a few minutes for a shower. I know ....I know.......it could be a lot WORSE!!!!!! My thoughts Exactly!!!!! That's why I headed for my camera instead of yelling!!!!

Niagara University Mascot

My son Matt plays on the travel team for Niagara Jr. Purple Eagles. We recently got his team pictures and Matt made mention of Diamond being their mascot. So while he was at school I dressed up Diamond and had her try out for the role......What do you think?????

She is such a good girl.....I mean really.. how many giant dogs do you see wearing clothes????

Acer Of New Zion & His Girls

This is a video I put together. It starts off with Acer, he is the "sire" to my Diamond, and then continues with 3 of Diamond's other littermates. Diamond, Cali & Mystic are plush coat Shiloh Shepherds, Darby is a smooth coat Shiloh Shepherd. They are all from the same litter. There is quite a variety of colors these dogs can be. This is more for fun than anything. My daughter Sabrina likes to train Diamond to "jump over" things. As long as she doesn't decide to "jump over" our fence, I figure why not..... So here's a clip of their little shows. Sara of course had to have a turn. Watch and laugh...it's cute!!

Diamond's 1st Leg Quarter

Diamond gets a partially raw diet. She gets kibble @ each meal with raw ground turkey and whatever I have to make it interesting! At six months I started to give her raw meat on the bone, mostly chicken wings. Now at One year old, she got her first BIG piece of raw meat on the bone. Many of our Shiloh people give their dogs chicken leg quarters because they are easily found and the cost is minimal. Backs & necks are good too, but I found these on sale and decided to see how she would do. She didn't know what to make of it at first. In fact it took her all day to eat that thing and it wasn't even frozen....

Diamond the Diaper Dog

This is also Jan 2009. Diamond started her 1st heat. She was not feeling very photogenic here, and I can't blame her. I had to take some pictures though because I never had a dog go through heat before, and it is a milestone for her. The white diaper (aka my husband's old underware) are just a temp while the denim are washed and dryed. She is doing quite well with wearing them. Hopefully this time next year we will be breeding her.

Diamond & Cousin Mya

This is Jan 2009. Diamond had not seen her cousin Mya since she was just a pup. Now that they are more evenly matched, they played quite well. Mya is still the Alpha, but Diamond held her own. I waited until they had played themselves out before trying to take any photos.

Diamond's 1st Christmas

Well, Diamond is 10 months old and about to experience
Her First Christmas.

She is doing really well with all the decorations. I had to eliminate some decorations just in case though. She loves the snow and so do I because it means NO MUD!!! My kids left a sled in the backyard, and the next day Diamond had fun pulling it around the yard. Now if I could just get her to pull the kids!!! I'll get a picture of it next time.

ISSR Homecoming 2008

Breed Founder Tina Barber and the International Shiloh Shepherd Registry (ISSR) has been doing a Homecoming for 34 years. This year Diamond and our family were proud to be a part of it. It was a lot of fun and a great learning experience. Diamond had never been in a dog show before, but she did quite well, for a 6 month old puppy. We put her in one of the 3 shows. She took 1st place in 4 catagories. Taking home 4 ribbons and 2 trophies. (See her with the trophies and Judge Fred Lanting (above). See our web album for more HC 2008 pics. Even the kids got a chance at handling the dogs in the ring. They had a blast!

Diamond meets her cousin Riley

My niece came for a visit the first week of July. She brought her Austrialian shepherd "Riley" for a visit. Riley is going on 2 years old. It was fun to watch them play. It was obvious that neither dog is "Alpha". I know Diamond enjoyed playing with her cousin. Riley was a little tired out from playing with two other dogs all weekend, but he still has enough left for Diamond. Take a look at the picassa web album.

5 MONTHS & 50 Pounds

Well, here we are at 5 months old. Diamond is now 50 lbs. She is gaining about 10 pounds a month! Her coat is getting much darker, especially through out her back. June 1st came and Diamond is now 4 months old. She now weighs 40 pounds. The vet tech couldn't believe it. She gained 20 pounds in 2 months. She is losing baby teeth and getting her adult teeth. She is also losing her baby fur and getting her adolescent fur. The stripe down her back is literally darker everyday. She is getting longer too. It's amazing how fast she's growing. Well, of course, we think she's adorable, but there's a lot more. She is the most gentle puppy I ever played with. Her little puppy knipping is so gentle. Which is great for the kids. Of course, we are still teaching her "No Bitting". Next, she is lovable, but independent. She can occupy herself. I'm hoping she can teach this trait to 2 of my 3 kids. She likes to play, but doesn't need constant attention. (Except for the housebreaking), which she is doing very well with now. She is excellant with our cat. She wants to play with her, but knows her limits. She does well in her crate. Sleeps all night with no accidents. I could go on and on, but my needy children are calling. Better to be needed though I guess, pretty soon they won't want to have mom around, and Diamond and Tabby will be the only ones who want me around.

Diamond likes to not only drink water, but likes to put her paws in her water dish and splash it out. Creates quite a mess. Guess, I'll get her a baby pool this summer and let her and my 2 year old have splash wars!
