We are the proud family of a "ISSR" Shiloh Shepherd puppy from New Zion Shilohs. Founder of the breed Tina Barber, from Filmore, NY has out done herself with these magnificent dogs. When it comes to Shilohs, no one knows more. Diamond is a light sable, plush coat, from the Lee/Acer litter born Feb 02,2008. She is very lovable, and very mello. She loves our children, and we love her very much. We look forward to many, many years with her. For more information on the true Shiloh shepherd take a look at our ISSR webring listed below.
Today we picked out our puppy. It was truely PUPPY LOVE @ first sight!
Diamond Comes Home!
Diamond came home @ 9 weeks. She takes a look around her new yard.
Diamond @ 10 weeks
Diamond's Ready to Ride
We are trying to get her to like riding in the car, so we can feel comfortable about going places with her. I've been taking her with me on my kid drop offs. The kids are on spring break this week, so I'm taxi mom. It's a good opportunity to do short rides. She did really well on the ride home from our breeder's house (Tina Barber, in Filmore, NY). She rode in a wire crate. She only cried for about 1/2 hr. and never got sick. Although I know a crate is the best way to travel, I don't have a travel crate at the moment and the wire one is too much of a bother for short trips. She was really comfortable in Sara's car seat. Now what do I do with Sara...humm.....
Bunk Beds
Hopefully someday our cat Tabby and Diamond will cuddle up together, but for now Tabby seems to prefer the upper bunk!!
This is Only the Beginning!!!!
Above : are some of my favorite "First Photo's" of our sweet little puppy! But keep scrolling down and you'll see just how much she grows and how much fun we have with her.
Below : are my "Posts" from newestto oldest. If I new what I was doing in the beginning, I would have done all posts so everything would be in Chronological order, but, I didn't, so you'll just have to go with it.
Well I think Diamond had a good Easter. Looks like the Easter Bunny brought her a basket of her own........ full of goodies. Homemade Easter doggie cookies.. an "unstuffed" Dragon & a rubber Bunny.
While the cats away the mice will play (or sleep). Yes, my daughter who refuses to be alone anytime, anywhere took it upon herself to get a bed buddy. And of course one of her many stuffed animals just isn't good enough. Now this type of thing is not allowed at our house but.....it was such a cute moment I had to get my camera. This is what happens when I take a few minutes for a shower. I know ....I know.......it could be a lot WORSE!!!!!! My thoughts Exactly!!!!! That's why I headed for my camera instead of yelling!!!!
My son Matt plays on the travel team for Niagara Jr. Purple Eagles. We recently got his team pictures and Matt made mention of Diamond being their mascot. So while he was at school I dressed up Diamond and had her try out for the role......What do you think?????
She is such a good girl.....I mean really.. how many giant dogs do you see wearing clothes????
This is a video I put together. It starts off with Acer, he is the "sire" to my Diamond, and then continues with 3 of Diamond's other littermates. Diamond, Cali & Mystic are plush coat Shiloh Shepherds, Darby is a smooth coat Shiloh Shepherd. They are all from the same litter. There is quite a variety of colors these dogs can be. Check out the link below. http://www.newzionshilohs.org/shiloh_colors.htm
Oh, and by the way, I picked this song because I like it, the title is "AMAZING" , by Aerosmith, and that's just what these dogs are.
This is more for fun than anything. My daughter Sabrina likes to train Diamond to "jump over" things. As long as she doesn't decide to "jump over" our fence, I figure why not..... So here's a clip of their little shows. Sara of course had to have a turn. Watch and laugh...it's cute!!
Diamond gets a partially raw diet. She gets kibble @ each meal with raw ground turkey and whatever I have to make it interesting! At six months I started to give her raw meat on the bone, mostly chicken wings. Now at One year old, she got her first BIG piece of raw meat on the bone. Many of our Shiloh people give their dogs chicken leg quarters because they are easily found and the cost is minimal. Backs & necks are good too, but I found these on sale and decided to see how she would do. She didn't know what to make of it at first. In fact it took her all day to eat that thing and it wasn't even frozen.... Here's 2 clips!!!!
